2022 Embrys (the year that was...)

Bob and Sharol had an excellent year in 2022! Sharol enjoyed another year of retirement with creative pursuits (stained glass & mosaics! nature writing! traveling!) as well as Cocoa Case, her online chocolate business. After a career of annual reports, though, she can't resist a little review of this last year that was! In January she also joined the board of the Golden Gate Audubon Society and has tackled co-chairing their annual fundraiser, "April Birdathon 2023," as well as the conservation committee, Friends of the Alameda Wildlife Refuge. Sharol traveled to Puerto Vallarta in April with her college friend, Amy, to attend a week-long mosiac workshop at the fantastic Hacienda Mosaico.

In May the whole Embry clan gathered in southern CA to celebrate Bob's Dad's (also Bob) 90th Birthday! It was a joy to have all of the kids, grandkids, GREAT-grandkids, and cousins as well as Bob Sr.'s siblings get together for the momentous occasion. We added on a special day at Disneyland for our kids and grandkids to keep the fun going!

Bob continues to work at EBMUD in their facilities management with a hopeful retirement date of March 2023. It's a good job and keeps us in health insurance and travel funds. The Army moved Sam and Jessica to Temple, TX in Nov. 2021 (after a brief hope that they'd be transferred to Washington State). The good thing is that they're only about an hour away from Tanner in Austin. Sam and Jessica are both working as RNs and the kids are settled in school and making lots of new friends. Will (8 years old) enjoys theater (he got to tell jokes between scenes in his last performance) and Addie (6 years old) enjoys gymnastics - she even has parallel bars to practice on in her living room. Tanner is working for a cybersecurity company which should make for good long-term employment and continues to enjoy all that Austin has to offer - music, entertainment, a girlfriend and friends. We're making lots of trips to TX! We also traveled to meet Sharol's brother, Scott, and his family in Oregon and to Pensacola, Florida to visit Sharol's sister, Diane, & Jim. We do love our traveling and look forward to lots more! We love to visit friends and family, so if we haven't been to see you yet, look out!

We hope 2023 brings you plenty of joy, love, and peace for the world. "Love came down at Christmas" and we hope love comes your way this season and all year, too!
